This page is dedicated to the stories of Bay's Buddies!!!

Here is a letter from Daisy Mote (a pretty little daschund), I think she had a little help from her parents!!!
This is Daisy Mote just wanting to say hi & thank you for your love,
compassion & time you have spent with me to help overcome my spinal injury.
As you will remember Mom &  Dad had been referred to you & Dr. Powell highly recommended they bring me to get my exercise, & treatments to help build up my muscle tone that had been lost through the medications I was on because of my spinal injury. It was such a great day when I was able to wag my tail & we were all so Happy. That was just the start & it was very soon that my legs started working & with your help it wasn't long till I was moving on all four cylinders. It was great when I was able to run & play again with my sisters Penni & Heidi . As you know I have an excellent
set of wheels that Mom & Dad got for me but they sure don't compare to having your legs all working.
As you know my back legs quit working again & I had not jumped off
anything ? I guess it's just an inflammation that occurs, perhaps its a
characteristic of our long backs that us Dachshunds have to contend with.
I realize my muscles are not coming back as fast as they did last year but they are starting to get some feelings & if you have a little patience I'm sure between us we will get them working again.
P.S. I just love coming to swim with you & I don't want Mom & Dad to cut down on any treatments.  So just between us, if we just progress a little at a time, I could keep coming to see you & that would be awesome.( Don't tell Mom & Dad ) Also my sisters are sure jealous & if I didn't come who would get to take the the Boomerang for a swim?

Bye for now & looking forward to our next therapy session.

Love Ya Lots  ( Bow Wow Wow )

And now Jackie's mom has a few words to say....

                                                History

Jackie is a 4 ½ year old Jack Russell crossed with a Toy Fox Terrier.  She broke her leg at the age of 3 ½ months by slipping on some ice going to the bathroom.  However, the broken leg wasn’t     discovered until 2 weeks after the fact because the original x-ray did not show anything.  Jackie went  through an extensive surgery to fix her little leg.

Because she was so young when this happened and still growing we had to physically help her leg grow.

Today

4 years later she is very active in the sport of agility.

She enjoys the sport very much but the impact can be very

hard on her due to her previous injury.  This past summer

we over did the agility trialing so much so that she became

lame and unable to compete.  We decided to limit her agility

and to focus on improving her stamina and regaining

strength in her leg.

Bay’s Waterpaws has helped in Jackie’s road to recovery.  It has given her a lower impact form of  exercise which has helped her maintain her fitness  level and increase the muscle mass in her injured leg.

Thanks to Corinne at Bay’s Waterpaws our little Jackie is loving agility again and has found a new love for swimming.  (kind of…. As long as Corinne is in the pool with her giving her attention)

A fun, friendly exercise alternative for your dog!!!
